Testing of technological properties

Due to the diversity of plastics and their batch-dependent behaviour, reliable processing is highly dependent on the respective material properties. These are crucial for defining process parameters and for evaluating quality and reproducibility in production. Our analyses support material-specific characterization and also provide a sound basis for optimizing processing and analysing the root causes of deviations. The focus is on rheological, physical, and material properties that provide information on the processability, composition, and quality of plastic materials. These properties are used in development as well as in incoming goods inspection and production control.

In our accredited laboratory, we offer, among others, the following testing procedures:
- MVR and MFR acc. to DIN EN ISO 1133
- Solution viscosity and viscosity number acc. to the DIN EN ISO 1628 series
- Intrinsic viscosity and k-value acc. to Fikentscher
- Density determination acc. to DIN EN ISO 1183
- Ash content acc. to DIN EN ISO 3451 and ISO 1172

Furthermore, in our non-accredited laboratory, we can perform the following test:
- Water content acc. to DIN EN ISO 15512 (Karl-Fischer-titration)
These parameters enable a reliable assessment of flow behaviour, molecular structure, filler content, and moisture content, thus forming an essential basis for process and quality optimization in the processing of plastics.
