Surface tests
The trend towards the individualization of technical components is leading to increasing demands on surface quality. Besides design, the perceived product impression is primarily determined by the appearance, feel, and uniformity of the surface. Surface testing ensures that components are visually appealing, withstand mechanical stress, and meet the requirements of their intended use.
Tests examine colour, gloss, surface texture, and resistance to mechanical influences and media contact. This allows for the early detection and reproducible evaluation of quality deviations.
In our accredited laboratory, we offer, among other things, the following testing procedures:
- Media and chemical resistance acc. to DIN EN ISO 2812 and DIN EN ISO 22088
- Scratch test acc. to DIN EN ISO 22557 and VW PV 3952
- Cross-cut test acc. to DIN EN ISO 2409
- Abrasion and rub fastness acc. to DIN EN ISO 105 X12 and DIN EN ISO 21546
- Colour measurement acc. to DIN EN ISO 11664
- Gloss measurement acc. to DIN EN ISO 2813
- Visual colour and surface evaluation acc. to DIN EN ISO 3668
- Evaluation of colour deviation and bleed acc. to DIN EN ISO 105-A02/-A03
- Yellowing test acc. to DIN 6174
These tests enable a reliable assessment of the optical quality, surface resistance, and functional durability of technical components under real-world operating conditions.
