Testing for IP protection ratings
IP protection ratings assess the protection of devices, enclosures, and assemblies against the ingress of foreign objects and water. They are an essential part of product qualification and provide reliable evidence of functional safety, reliability, and suitability for use under defined environmental conditions. The tests are performed acc. to standardized procedures acc. to DIN EN 60529 and ISO 20653. They enable unambiguous classification via the IP code and support the targeted design and protection of products against dust and water exposure.
In our accredited laboratory, we offer, among other things, the following testing procedures:
- Protection against foreign objects (IP2X, IP3X, IP4X)
- Dust tests (IP5X and IP6X)
- Drip and spray water tests (IPX1 to IPX4 and IPX4K)
- Water jet tests (IPX5, IPX6, and IPX6K)
- Immersion tests (IPX7 and IPX8)
- High-pressure and steam jet tests (IPX9 and IPX9K)
