Sustainable materials in focus: Our tests with natural fibers and bioplastics

As early as 2019, we began intensively exploring the use of natural fibers and bioplastics, conducting extensive sampling with various materials. The focus was on different types of plastics containing natural fibers, their processability in injection molding, as well as surface quality, stability, and tooling behavior. The results show that sustainable materials are technically feasible, but place particular demands on process control and material handling. Since these initial test series, we have been continuously developing this topic. We are testing new material generations, optimizing parameters, and closely monitoring advancements in the field of bioplastics. For KTR GmbH, one thing is clear: sustainable materials will play a crucial role in plastics processing in the long term. Through our early testing and ongoing development, we are laying the foundation for flexibly and responsibly meeting future customer requirements. We will keep you updated on further developments.
